FAQ

Will you obtain the permits and set up the inspections required for jobs to be completed?

Not every job requires permits or inspections. Residential remodeling projects that change the structure of your home do require both. I know what kind of permit and inspections are needed and will get them for you.

Can I see your certificate of insurance?

Yes, I carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance.

What is the payment schedule?

Payment terms will be discussed prior to signing a contract and before construction begins. I never require a full payment upfront. Usually a payment is due upon materials being delivered to the job site. Additional payments will be agreed upon and outlined in the contract.

How will additional charges be dealt with?

It is possible that circumstances will arise that increase an estimated price that was originally offered. I will not spend a penny over the agreed upon budget without first gaining your approval. This will be outlined in a contract.

What steps will you take to protect my property?

I will take responsible measures to protect your property by using tarps to cover large furniture items and surfaces in work areas. I will recommend items that should be moved to other areas to protect them from damage. I will also close and lock doors as necessary when entering and leaving your home.

How will you clean up at the end of the day?

The work side will be clean and clutter-free. All hand tools will be put away and removed from the job site. My customers and I will have a discussion if a large piece of equipment needs to remain on the job site due to the project spanning several days.

How do we resolve any disagreements?

Communication is the key. It is in my best interest to be honest and trustworthy. An open dialogue helps to ensure my customers and I are staying on top of a project. Together we will set clear and reasonable expectations of how the project will go.
